It is possible for Smeagol/Gollum to have potentially regained some aspects of his former self, but it would have been a difficult and arduous journey. The hold of the One Ring on him was strong, and his internal struggle between his two personas made it challenging for him to fully return to who he once was. However, with the right guidance, support, and perhaps separation from the Ring, there may have been a chance for him to find redemption and reclaim some of his lost humanity. **

Yes, Smeagol/Gollum already exhibited signs of a split personality before he came into possession of the Ring. The character of Smeagol was kind and gentle, while Gollum was deceitful and cunning. This duality was evident in his internal conversations and interactions with himself even before he became obsessed with the Ring. The Ring amplified these traits and further deepened the divide between Smeagol and Gollum. **

Additionally, his deceitful and manipulative nature pushed people away, leaving him isolated and alone. **

I work approximately 40 hours a week in landscaping and gardening. This includes both regular maintenance tasks as well as larger projects such as planting, mulching, and hardscaping. During peak seasons or when there are special events, I may work additional hours to ensure everything is well-maintained and looking its best. **

Smeagol was particularly susceptible to the corrupting influence of the Ring due to his already fragile and twisted nature. His obsession with the Ring and his willingness to kill for it made him more susceptible to its power. Additionally, his isolation and lack of strong moral character made him more vulnerable to the Ring's influence. Unlike other characters, such as Frodo, who had a strong sense of duty and loyalty, Smeagol's lack of these qualities allowed the Ring to easily manipulate and transform him. **
