Imposing an additional late payment surcharge on a late payment surcharge may not be fair or reasonable. It could create a cycle of increasing penalties that may become excessive and burdensome for the payer. Instead, it may be more effective to find alternative ways to encourage timely payments, such as offering incentives for early payments or implementing a clear and reasonable payment schedule. Additionally, it's important to consider the circumstances of the late payment and whether there are valid reasons for the delay before imposing additional penalties. **

If the surcharge is due to increased operating costs, such as rising fuel prices or additional expenses related to safety measures, then it may be justified. It is important for companies to be transparent about the reasons for fare surcharges and ensure that they are reasonable and necessary. **
